The Batavierenrace is the world's largest relay race, held in the Netherlands. This menu contains all the general information about the Batavierenrace.

There is a special program for the international students. You can get in touch with other international students at the party and see the beautiful cities of Nijmegen and Enschede.

More than 8,500 students annually take part in Batavierenrace . All the information you need as a participant can be found in this part of the site.

It is impossible to organize an event like the Batavierenrace on your own. Therefore, the Batavierenrace has many partners to make the event a success.

The route of the Batavierenrace

The route of the Batavierenrace goes over 175 kilometers and contains 25 stages, of which 17 are men's and 8 are women's stages. There are three shifts, a night- (stage 1-9), morning- (stage 10-17) and dayshift (stage 18-25). The night-shift starts with an official start, in Nijmegen at 00:00 AM at the University Sports Centre of the Radboud University. The morning-shift starts at Ulft at 06.30 AM and the dayshift starts at Barchem at 11.00 AM. The final stage is a combined men's and women's stage, which starts at the Old Market in Enschede, and finishes at the cinder track on the campus of the University of Twente.

The three restarts take place so we can control the distance between the first and last runner.
